Balloon Design

 

You will need:- White nail polish, toothpicks, red nail art pen, green nail art pen, black nail art pen, white nail art pen, clear topcoat.

Difficulty rating **

 

1. Paint the entire nail in a white polish  and allow the polish to dry. 

 

 

2. Using your red nail art pen, paint a circle on the nail.

 

3. then using your green nail art pen paint another circle at the side of the red one leaving a space in-between the two

 

 

4. Using your black nail art pen, add  a wiggly line coming from the red circle going towards the tip of the nail

 

5. Add another wiggly line coming from the green circle going towards the tip of the nail.

 

6. allow the balloons to completely dry then add some detail to the balloon using your white nail art pen, this will give the balloons a 3d appearance, allow the design to completely dry then add one layer of clear topcoat to seal the design

 

This Design looks great on one or two nails, but for a more dramatic look, it also looks fab on every nail, try painting different colored balloons on every nail. For a different look paint the balloon design on a couple of nails, and the ‘confetti’ or ‘going dotty’ design on the other nails (look out for these designs they’ll be arriving shortly)

Sunflowers

 

 You will need:- Pale blue nail polish, brown nail art pen, orange or yellow nail art pen, clear topcoat

Difficulty rating ***

 

1. Paint entire nail blue and allow to dry

 

 

2. Using the brush of your brown nail art pen, paint a brown half circle shape over the corner of  the tip of the nail

 

 

3. If your nail is big enough paint another half circle shape on the opposite side of the nail. Colour in both shapes and allow to dry completely

 

 

4. Once the nails are completely dry, use your bright orange or yellow nail art pen, you may find it easier to use the nib side of your pen, paint triangle shapes around the brown circle, these are going to be the petals of your sunflower.

 

 

5. Colour in the petals and paint the same triangle shape petals around the other brown half circle

 

 

6. Colour in the petals and allow the design to completely dry, then apply one coat of clear topcoat to seal the design

 

 

This design looks great on fingernails or toenails for a fantastic summer look, experiment with different colour to co-ordinate with your outfits.

Cow print

 

You will need:- White nail polish, black nail art pen, clear top coat.

Difficulty rating *

 

1. Paint all the nail white and allow the polish to completely dry

 

2. Using your black nail art pen, add a random black splodge, you may find it easier to use the brush side of your nail art pen

 

3. Start to add more splodges, some coming from the side and tip.

 

4. Add more splodges, just at random, you don't have to try to hard, just make sure the splodges don't touch.

 

5. Start to fill in any large areas with splodges.

 

6. Add splodges in any areas where there is to much white showing.

 

Allow the design to dry then add one layer of clear topcoat.

Just splodge where you like, make each nail different, this design looks wicked on fingernails and toes.

Floral design

 

You will need:- Pale pink nail polish, toothpicks, orange nail art pen,

green nail art pen, Bight pink nail art pen, clear topcoat

Difficulty rating **

 

1. Paint all nails with pale pink nail and allow the nails to completely dry.

 

2. Using your orange nail art pen paint a small dot on one side of the nail towards the cuticle.

 

3. Using your bright pink nail art pen, start to add tiny petals around the centre dot leaving a small space between them.

 

4. paint petals all the way around the centre until a flower has been created.

 

5. using your green nail art pen create a wiggly line coming down the side of the nail coming from the petals of your flower and going towards the nail tip.

 

6. Continue the same actions as in step 5, but coming from the petals across the cuticle part of the nail towards the side of the nail. Allow the design to dry then add one coat of clear topcoat

 

This design looks cool reversed, instead of painting the design near the cuticle, try doing it near the tip, try alternating the design, do one nail near the cuticle and one nail near the tip, it looks great!

Flower power

 

You will need:- Pale pink nail polish, red nail art pen, yellow nail art pen, clear top coat

Difficulty rating **

 

1. Paint entire nail pale pink and allow the polish to dry.

 

2. Choose your yellow nail art pen , using the nib or the brush paint a small yellow circle in the centre of the nail, this is the centre of your flower, allow to completely dry.

 

3. Using your red nail art pen paint a teardrop shape petal coming away from the yellow centre.

 

4. Paint another petal opposite to the first one, the paint one on either side to create a cross shape

 

5. Paint another petal in between the two petals

 

6. Continue to add petals between the petals until you have cone all the way round.

 

Allow the design to completely dry then add one layer of clear top-coat.

Strawberry delight

 

You will need -Pale pink nail polish, red nail art pen, black nail art pen green nail art pen, toothpicks, clear topcoat.

 Difficulty rating  ***

 

1. Paint all your nails with 2 layers of pale pink nail polish, and allow the polish to completely dry

 

2. Using your red nail art pen paint a curved line across the tip ot the nail.

 

3. Fill in the area of pink from the red line in step 2, to the cuticle area and allow to completely dry.

 

4. Using a toothpick add tiny dots over the red painted area, using  black polish, or your black nail art pen, this will give your strawberry a more realistic look

 

5. Add a stem to your strawberry. Using fine detail end of your green nail art pen, paint a cross.

 

6. Finish your stem with a line through the centre of the cross. Allow the design to completely dry then add one layer of clear topcoat.

 

For nails that look good enough to eat, for toenails try painting big toe nail with this design and painting the rest with red or pink nail polish.
