The secret to a successful hassle free party is forward planning and good organisation. Prepare more games than you plan to use in advance. Activities often take less time than planned. Some of our party game ideas have winners it is up to you if you would like to and award prizes.

 

Musical Fancy Dress 

This is my favourite game it’s really good fun, it’s a chance for everyone to look stupid!

Fill a large bag with accessorise (the funnier the better). Invite all the players to sit in a circle. Turn on some music, and ask the children to pass around the bag. When the music stops, the player holding the bag, must reach in, pull out an item, and put it on.

The game continues until all the items have gone.

Don’t forget to take lots of pictures.

 

Guess Who??

Ask guest to bring a baby picture of themselves, tape them onto a large poster and number each photo.

Set the poster where everyone can see it, provide paper and pencils for the guest to write on, then try and guess who each baby is.

 

Hat, Gloves, Scarves and Glasses

Gather together a hat, a pair of gloves, a scarf, a pair of glasses and a dice, invite all the players to sit in a circle and place all the objects in the centre of the circle. The first player must throw the dice, if the player fails to throw a 6 then the dice is thrown by the next player, the dice will  be passed and thrown until a player throws a 6, the person who throws a 6 must then try to put on the items whist the players continue to throw the dice, if someone else throws a 6 before the player has put on all the items, then they must remove them and the other player will then try to get all the items on before another 6 is thrown, the first one to successfully wear all 4 items is the winner.

 

Piñatas

A piñata is a handmade papier-mâché /cardboard model which can be filled with sweets, balloons, small toys, in-fact just about anything.

The idea is to fill and suspend the piñata, then each child in turn is blindfolded as they take their turn in hitting the piñata, to ensure everyone gets a go line up the children in age and only allow one hit each, you will probably not want to blindfold the children under the age of 6 unless they look like heavy hitters. if the child is lucky then their hit  will be the one that releases the contents, then it is a mad dash for everyone to see how many of the goodies they can pick up. Name That Tune

Gather together a bunch of different  Cd’s, Decide on a time limit on each track, start by playing a few seconds of each track. Give each guest a pen and paper, and see who can guess the name and the artist of each song. A point for each. The winner is the one who can correctly guess the most songs, totalling the most points.

 

Juggling games

Decide whether players use 2 juggling balls or 3 then before you begin the juggling games all players should have 5-10 minutes practicing time to learn and perfect their juggling skill, then the serious fun can begin.

See who can juggle their balls for the longest time, the girl who keeps their juggling balls in the air for the longest time without dropping them is the winner.

Another great juggling game is to see who can juggle with the most balls for a set number of seconds, the player who uses the most balls is the winner.

For the more advanced this juggling game is great fun, try limbo juggling each player  will try to juggle two balls as they pass under the limbo, any player who touches the stick or drops the balls is out. Guess What???

Put several small items in a paper bag, (eg toothbrush, a banana, a picture frame) blindfold one person and hand them one of the items from out of the bag. Give them 15 seconds to guess what the item is, if they are unsuccessful, reveal the item to them, but they are now out of the game,. Blindfold the next player and give them an item from the bag, if they guess the item then they can continue in the game until only one player is left, the last player remaining is the winner.

 

Musical Microphone

You’ll need a microphone (real or pretend) and funky music. Seat everyone in a circle, and put the music on. The guest’s pass around the microphone, while the music plays, when the music stops the player holding the microphone has to sing a short song, play until every-one has had a turn.

 

Charade’s

Start by collecting pictures of animals, cartoon characters ect, this should be done in advance, cut them out of magazines ect and place them in a paper bag, toss them around to mix them up. Have one player pick a picture out of the bag but not show it to anyone. The idea is for the player holding the picture to pretend to be that animal or character, the rest of the players guess who the child is pretending to be.

 

Lipstick-Mania

Blindfold all the guest and issue each one with a cheap brightly coloured lipstick. Make everyone turn around three times on the spot and go in search of a partner, once everyone has paired up they have to attempt to apply the lipstick to their partners lips, still with the blindfold on, set a time limit so that everyone can remo0ve their blindfolds at the same time and see how gorgeous their lips look.

Defiantly have your camera ready for this one!!

 

Memory game

Collect 10-15 small themed related items (rings, earrings sunglasses nail polish, nail file etc) set them in a tray in front of everyone, for 30-40 seconds, while players try to memorise as many as possible, when the times up, pass out paper and pencils, allow 2-3 mins for each player to write down as many items as they can remember, whoever list the most wins.

 

Make-over contest

 In this fun game the stylist compete for the winning prize. Pair up your guest and supply them with make up, brushes, combs and hair accessories for styling.

 One child in each pair will be the model, the other the stylist. Allow 15mins for each team to race to make up their models before time is up. When the time runs out, Then have the stylist and models switch roles. Have the kid’s do a secret vote on whom they think has the best makeover. The stylist of that person is the winner.

 

Pin the handbag on the girl

This is an interesting and fun variation on the traditional “pin the tail on the donkey game” that we all remember.

Each player is given a funky handbag with a number on, then each player will in turn be blindfolded as they stick their handbag on the poster where they think it should be. The closest one to the spot wins. Click here to buy this fun party game.

 

Limbo

For this game all you will need is fab music we will bring the limbo. Put on the music and let everyone do the limbo. Guest take turns bending over backwards and passing under he stick. If they bump the stick, or touch the ground with anything but their feet, they step out of the game and cheer on the sideline. After all players have had a turn, lower the stick and everyone tries again. Continue to lower the stick each round until there is only one player remaining.
